Tour Dates: June 16th – 21st, 2023
Explore Barcelona, visit the Sagrada Familia, and tour Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. Share the power of music with the opportunity to rehearse and perform a gala concert with Elena Sharkova and special guest conductor Maestro Basilio Astulez.
Participate with me in a festival of fun, talent, local immersion and fine choral connectivity. I believe we sing to embrace audiences, other singers and the music. This festival will reflect that sentiment bringing us closer to our Spanish audience through our staging, choice of repertoire and the spirit of the event I am so looking forward to share with you.
Spain is a tremendous destination and Barcelona one of the finest cities of Europe. I can’t wait to share the history, culture and unique architecture of this fascinating Mediterranean city. We have a choice of great venues for the gala concert and for any individual concerts you might wish to have KI stage.
I have invited Maestro Basilio Astulez to guest conduct Spanish pieces in the festival as well. He and his Leioa Kantika Korala choir are one of the most renowned faces of Spanish youth choral music. Basilio and I hope that some of his singers can travel from the Basque region to join us for the gala concert in Barcelona. Kantika Korala is known around the world for its choral excellence in a wide variety of genres, moving and dramatic staged programs, and strong commitment to new Spanish repertoire. Basilio is a fun and engaging conductor and choreographer who brings energy and joy into every rehearsal!
I look forward to talking with you more about the festival and to shape it further in collaboration with the participating choirs.
