Edith Copley

Dr. Edith A. Copley is the Director of Choral Studies at Northern Arizona University where she conducts the Shrine of the Ages Choir and teaches conducting and graduate choral literature.  Choirs under her direction have performed at numerous choral conferences, in Carnegie Hall, and have toured internationally.  Prior to her appointment at NAU, she taught secondary choral music in the Midwest and later in Vienna, Austria at the American International School.  Dr. Copley has received numerous honors, including the NAU Centennial Teacher of the Year, Arizona Music Educator of the Year, Arizona ACDA Outstanding Choral Director, and The Weston H. Noble Award from her alma mater, Luther College. Dr. Copley has served ACDA as President of the Western Region and Arizona, state and region newsletter editor, and Interest Session Chair for the ACDA National Conferences in 2013, 2012 and 2021. Dr. Copley has her own choral series with Santa Barbara Music Publishing, and is in high demand as a clinician and guest conductor.  She has conducted all-state choirs in over 30 states, national honor choirs in Carnegie Hall, and international choral festivals in Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, Luxembourg, Tasmania, England, Australia, China, Oman and Turkey.
