At KI Concerts, we believe that performance travel is as much about the unexpected moments as it is about the carefully planned ones. While we pride ourselves on meticulous planning and delivering world-class experiences, it’s often how we respond to the unexpected that defines a truly unforgettable journey. The Outer Banks Chorus experienced this firsthand during their recent tour to Italy.
Just two days before departure, the director of the choir received disappointing news: their highly anticipated 11am Mass performance at St. Peter’s Basilica had been canceled. A last-minute Mass was scheduled by the Pope himself, so the basilica would be closed to the public during that time.
However, thanks to swift collaboration between our team, the choir, and local partners in Italy, we were able to reschedule their performance of Mass for 5pm on the same day.
After a day of relaxing and exploring Rome, the singers were finally able to gather in St. Peter’s Basilica and perform together. Here’s what the choir said about the experience:
“Standing in that sacred space, our voices lifted in harmony for the final time on this tour, surrounded by centuries of faith, art, and history—it was nothing short of magical. This moment wasn’t just a performance—it was a powerful reminder that music transcends language, borders, and even religion. It unites us in something bigger than ourselves and reminds us of the shared beauty of the human spirit.”
We couldn’t agree more.
We’re endlessly appreciative of the Outer Banks Chorus for their flexibility, grace, and stunning voices. We’re also proud that, even in the face of last-minute changes, our team delivered an experience that will live in their hearts and ours for years to come.
